One of my favorite sites is dictionary.com. While browsing tonight, I discovered that pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis is one of the longest words found in the dictionary. Here is the meaning:
pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis
–noun
an obscure term ostensibly referring to a lung disease caused by silica dust, sometimes cited as one of the longest words in the English language.
It is indeed a loooong word and it is a name of a lung disease. Yikes. :)
Read more...Did you know that these days, China and India lead the list of countries that buy gold? Gold is given as presents on special occasions and couples are showered with gold gifts on their wedding days in India. Thus, some gold investors believe that gold consumption will significantly increase in the coming years. And based on their computation, gold will most likely be priced at $2,200 because of the increasing demand and because mining companies have started exploring old deposits with new technology and untouched deposits as well. So when is the right time to buy gold coins? It’s now, according to gold investment experts. It is a worthwhile investment because gold rush is not coming to an end yet.

| Your Vision is Bold |
![]() It's minds like yours that have encouraged others to do what they love and make their lives count. You have always lived big and acted impulsively. You don't like to over think anything. You feel most alive right before you make a big change. It's probably why you make so many of them. |
These are pork cracklings or chicharon. My mother in-law prepares the yummiest chicharon on earth! We usually anticipate the days that she serves them which is rare and which is good because too much consumption of these is really, really dangerous to our health. :D
Now those that you see are not our Ma’s. Wes and I bought them at my favorite chicharon stand at SM Clark. They’re quite expensive so we bought just enough to satisfy our cravings. Hopefully Ma will cook enough to last us a day or two very soon!

Thanks to my husband for sparking her interest; my daughter has been fond of watching cooking and baking shows on TV. She is very much interested on how dishes are prepared and what ingredients are being used to bake a nice cake. The gadgets, equipment and even the hosts’ coats and aprons impress her. She once asked if we can buy her an oven. We explained that it is not a plausible investment yet and she understood. We suggested visiting one of her grandmothers when she is baking so we can all help. The idea seemed acceptable to her but she still asked for another thing: a chef coat. Now that, we can definitely afford, but we still have to find one that fits her size.
Speaking of chef jacket, iD by Landau is a designer and supplier of elegant and stylish chef apparel. One should remember that chef apparel is pretty much as important as your restaurant’s or even cooking show’s color scheme or décor, thus, careful selection of chef coats must be done. Traditional chef apparel or alternative style, it’s your call. Whatever your preference might be, iD by Landau will provide with you many options to address your needs. They do not only assure you of affordability, but quality and timely delivery as well. Indeed, one can never go wrong with iD by Landau.

Yesterday, I decided to download and upgrade my iPod’s software. Upon installation, I saw that a backup was being made so I did not panic even if I read that my iPod is being restored to its factory settings. Upon checking later on, I discovered that my applications were back and so were my podcasts. But when I was about to play my music on my way to my daughter’s school, I was taken aback when I was greeted by an empty playlist! Everything, every song was deleted!
So there. Another task that I need to add to my to-do list – rebuild my playlist. Two MP3 players failed me in the past and rebuilding a playlist can be time-consuming and taxing so it’s a good thing that I have kept my music stored in my EHD. I am grateful though that I only have to rebuild my playlist and not my podcasts nor applications.
1. It became officially summer on Monday. What's your favorite part of winter?

3. Kimber's husband just got the dream job that he's hoped for. So a big shout out to her and Anthony! Tell us about the best job that you ever had.

4. Who is probably talking a load of crap about you right now?
:: Don’t know, don’t care. Hahaha!
5. An alien appears and offers you the opportunity to repeat one year of your life. You will still know everything that you know now. He explains that no matter what you do differently, when you are returned to the present nothing will have changed. What year would you pick and why?
:: Probably the year when I was a senior high school student because even if it signals an end of a chapter of our young lives, high school life is definitely the best. Or my first year as a college student which ushered many things new – new environment, new friends, new life.
6. Name three things you have on you at all times. Explain why.
:: My mobile phone – can’t afford to lose touch with family and friends, especially at this place and time. My iPod Touch – music and podcasts keep me company during long trips. My comb – because I am vain. Haha!

Have you bought a CD or mp3 of either artist recently?
::Nope.
10. What radio ad right now do you find so annoying that you'd rather have a tooth drilled than hear it again?
:: I rarely listen to radios lately and I’d prefer annoying radio ads over tooth drilling. :P

By next week, we are going to celebrate our first month here in Pampanga. For the sake of remembering, I will try to come up with what we (or I) have accomplished in that span of time. Not much, I think. But I am going to give myself some slack since we are still adjusting.
I have some things which I want to accomplish or learn and I have to list them down to prioritize. Now that we’re getting into a regular schedule of daily activities and classes for DD, I can finally find time to do some of the things that I want to do: add more blogs (yay!), digiscrapping, photo organizing/ printing, practice photography, cooking and do more reading.
Blogs – Yes, I intend to add more. I’ve already listed the niche that I intend to tackle but I still need to come up with good domain names.
Digiscrapping – My skill (if there’s any) in this craft has not been put into good use for a looooong time. I am inspired by friends who are still into it.
Photo Organizing/ Printing – Oh, we have loads of photos that need to be printed. I’ve wasted much of my Artscow credits mainly because I am such a slacker. :(
Cooking – I am not a bad nor a good cook. I am just a so-so cook. However, I intend to learn more and cook more.
Photography – Guilty. Guilty. Guilty. I spent a fortune on my cameras and photography books but they’re just gathering dusts. Now is the time to invest time and energy to make good use of them
Reading – Ah. This is one thing that you can’t accuse me of neglecting. I am reading one particular BOOK everyday and I am in the middle of another book, which I hope to finish before this week ends. And more books are lined up after this one is done! Yey me! Reading is my first love and I am very grateful to be given much time now to read again.
Actually, I am so grateful for this season of my life. That I get to do some “ME” stuff and at the same time, take care of my family. This won’t last so I intend to enjoy every minute of it.

From my window, I can see the dark sky which is being occasionally illuminated by lightnings. It has been a very warm and humid day that I am wishing for rain to make the air cool. My daughter and I have been sweating excessively and I understand why she prefers staying downstairs instead of being here in our room (aside from the fact that her cousins and the TV/DVD sets are downstairs too). Our room is the warmest area in the house but I like it here.
So I hope and pray for a rain tonight. The heat makes me feel lethargic. But I need the sun’s rays tomorrow which is my laundry day. Teehee!

After attending the Mass last weekend, we proceeded to SM Clark to buy some stuff for DD. While going around the 2nd floor, we saw this:
It was a day after the Philippine Independence Day (June 12), thus, the Philippine flag being displayed at the mall. But what got me curious was the material used to create that certain flag. It was glittery and shimmery, it made me think of yema wrapped in cellophane. So down we went and upon closer look, here’s what we saw:
It was made of hundreds and hundreds of Sasmuan Polvoron in different flavors! It was so nice and very impressive! These famous polovorons originated from Sasmuan, a small town in Pampanga. It was started by a couple named Redentor and Fatima Del Rosario last 1990 with a capital of P80. After 20 years, their famous Sasmuan Polvorons are now being sold all around the country. Indeed, perseverance pays!

When celebrities hit the red carpet, they pull out all the stops. They wear the latest haute couture and only the most eye-catching, stunning jewelry. Very often that elegant jewelry was designed by Haig Tacorian of Tacori. He's a go-to guy for the jet set crowd.
Tacori is renowned for their timeless classics in diamonds, gold, and silver. Their passion for classic beauty, fine detail, and distinct beauty is apparent in the jewelry. Over 40 years of experience has given Tacori an advantage and they take full advantage of it.
Known primarily for wedding sets, their collection is seemingly never-ending. Engagement rings set the mood for that special question. Weddings bands for him and her seal the deal with stately grace, tradition, and the Tacori eye to modern style and classic influence.
All Tacori designs share the same commitment to gorgeous. World-class in every way, there is no finer jewelry, just other jewelry. Their necklaces attract. Their earrings seduce. Their bracelets beckon. With these dazzling diamonds on display, a girl is likely to have many best friends.
Family-owned plus family-run equals family pride -- pride for their product, pride for their service, pride for their accomplishments. This honor shines through with each diamond, resplendent and pure.
Haig Tacorian and his family of visionary jewelers brought a European sense of diligence and conviction to the art of the process and the process of art. Their new line featuring only 24 karat gold and .925 purity silver further extends their legend.
Speaking of legend, that was a Tacori ring Chandler used when he proposed to Monica on the television series Friends, as was the ring presented by Ryan Sutter to Trista Rehn on The Bachelorette's first season. When the stars pick the jewelry they expect to make them shine, they choose Tacori.
Yesterday, we (DH and I) had a blast meeting my former boss/ our matchmaker at Nathaniel’s. She was with her aunt, Auntie Babes – another cool aunt/ grandma on my list. They visited Auntie Babes’ daughter based here and they met us before going back to Quezon City.
I finally had the chance of tasting the famous palabok and buco-pandan salad that my brothers in-law and Kaje have been raving about. We were too excited about our order that I forgot about taking photos! There’ll be a next time for sure!
But indeed, it was a delectable experience (and writing about it makes me crave for the salad.) and I was certainly emotional when it was time for us to bid Mamitz goodbye. I miss her and everyone back home. And said that she misses us too. :( So September, come quick!
My daughter’s classes began last week and until today, I have been *experimenting* on our time of waking up. We can’t afford to wake up late because her school is quite far from where we live. However, I don’t want her to be lacking sleep.
According to the table below, she should be having at least 9.5 hours of sleep each day. If we wake up at around 5 PM, she should be in bed at around 8 PM, which is her official bed time. Now that it’s back to school once again, I need to train her again on sleeping at 8 PM because she was used to sleeping late when her summer vacation began.

Caring for a dog isn’t always an easy thing to do. Let’s face it, your life is busy and as much as you might care for your dog, you can’t always give them the attention they deserve. Sure, you give them the Sentinel for dogs and their other medications, but there is more to being a dog owner than that. You have to walk your dog.
Walking your dog can be a real pain if you lead a busy life or if you live in a climate that is familiar with the cold and snow. But this doesn’t excuse you from doing the job you signed up for. Unless you have a huge backyard(which most of you don’t) you have got to get the dog outside. The good news is that your dog doesn’t need to be walked everyday.
Shoot for something a little more manageable. Try and walk your dog at least 3 times a week. If you can walk your dog everyday then you absolutely should, but if not, walking it 3 times a week is a good start. Just take 30 minutes out of your day to go for a walk.
Walking your dog is not only good exercise for him but good exercise for yourself. It’s a great way for you to get to know your neighborhood, if you are new to the area, and it’s also a great way for you to interact with other people. People love dogs and they want to pet and play with them and they will strike up a conversation with you if you let them.
Walking a dog can be a chore but running errands while walking your dog is a great way to multitask. It allows you to be productive while giving your dog the kind of exercise and attention they need from you.

Aside from our usual input regarding the university degree programs and facilities, we usually give our prospective enrollees a talk on factors to be considered when choosing one’s course and university/ college. We often advice them to know themselves first – their capacities and interests. Once they have identified those capacities and interests, they can research college degrees to further help them make the right choices. Most often, the degree earned by a person determines the job that he will be doing all his life. Thus, choosing the best one is very crucial and he should be guided in doing so by his parents and career counselors.

In fact, he had already saved up enough to buy Branson tickets for his family, parents and some relatives . I am so excited for him and his family and I can’t wait to see their photos!

Late NOT! And here we go:
1. Being able to bring DD to school and back home without us getting lost.
2. My parents in-law who have been taking good care of us .
3. Auntie Rose and Auntie Pin who look after us and our needs even before we mention them.
4. Facebook! It keeps me updated about the lives of many of my friends, from a former colleague who recently announced that she is finally expecting to a mountaineer who lost her precious pulse oximeter.
5. A long weekend that will be.
6. More writing opportunities coming my way. (I can’t thank You enough!)
7. Friends, friends, friends – they pull and push me up. I am blessed!
I feel jubilant and happy for having accomplished a huge task today and that is to bring DD to school and back home without us getting lost. It was the first time that we commuted, just the two of us, here. Most often, we are with my husband or one of my brothers in-law or Mark driving us to places.
Anyway, we arrived early and finding her classroom was a breeze. We passed by the room of Auntie Rose, my husband’s aunt and a pre-school teacher. On our way to DD’s classroom, we also visited the library where Auntie Pin is a librarian. My daughter’s classroom is about 10 steps away from the library so I am secured that she will be watched over especially when she has needs and I am not around.
After sending her inside the room, I stayed around of course, to see who her teacher is. I learned that she was my husband’s teacher from way back. I saw her and I find her very motherly. After the morning praise and flag ceremony, I stayed at the library and read the day’s paper. I went to the nearby church afterwards and I was delighted to discover that there was an on-going Mass. Afterwards, I had my second breakfast at Chow King. Yes. Second. And then I spent around 3 good hours at the two malls nearby. There were expensive stuff that caught my fancy like the chic bronze bag, wide lcd monitor and pink laptop but trust me, all I did was look! But I did manage to buy some sleeveless tops and a new board game for the little girl. At around noon time, I went back to school to fetch her and home we went.
While leaving the subdivision this morning, I was asking her over and over again, “Are we ready?!” and over and over again she replied, “Yes, we are.” Upon coming home, our line was, “WE DID IT!”

This morning, I woke up to a familiar sound which I have not hear since 3 to 4 years ago. “Hello, good morning! How are you? I’m fine, thank you!”. It’s Disney’s Magic English! Last weekend, we bought the kids (our DD plus DH’s niece and nephew) some DVDs and Magic English was one of them. Watching the said video has greatly helped DD in developing her language skills when she was younger. We are hoping that it could help the little ones too, aged 2 years, 8 months and 1 year, 6 months.
Watching it made DD remember the Disney vacations promised to her by her Dad. On the other hand, it made me reminisce the days when she was such a little girl imitating what she saw and heard while watching it. Had it been that long? I now have a grade schooler. She had graduated from Winnie the Pooh and Dora. It’s Barbie’s turn this time. I miss her as a baby. She is even insisting that she isn’t one anymore. But she will always be my baby no matter how old and tall she will be.
Eyesight problems are common for many people. In fact, statistics shows that in US alone, 33,700,000 visits are made to doctors for eye care every year. But for many, eye care can be expensive so they tend to neglect it and that worsens their conditions. Good thing there are dedicated websites out there which can help prudent consumers. I’ve recently encountered an online shop named pricecontactlenses.com where affordable contacts are made available. No need to leave the comforts of your house, you just inform their website what you need and the quantity you want to buy and you will be directed to stores that sell affordable yet quality contacts like Acuvue oasis. The data you provided will be used in searching for best online discount contact lenses. The bulk of your order does not matter because the website will facilitate and provide you with the store that gives you the best deal possible. Indeed, pricecontactlenses.com has revolutionized our way of shopping for Acuvue oasis contacts and the likes. Gone were the days when choices of stores and brands are limited. Now, with just some clicks, you can get the most awesome deals on contact lenses in the convenience of our homes without hurting our pockets.

I was (and still am) deeply touched by their effort and I can say that I thoroughly enjoyed the night. There were singing and eating and much laughing. My gay friends were present too and they’re very hilarious! L had to defend himself when J discovered some testosterone creams inside his bag. It was really funny watching and listening to them!
Some of them even brought gifts. But more than those tokens, I am very much touched by their presence in my life, how they’ve loved me and my family since I met them. They are the reasons why leaving my hometown was very difficult. But they are very happy for me. The love and support they’ve been showing me make me believe that I am making the right decision. I am one lucky girl indeed.
Anyway, here they are:

We have been frequenting the malls since Friday to shop for school stuff for DD, some vitamins and fat burner supplements for me, plus some other things that we need around the house. DD refuses to tag along as she prefers staying home and playing with her cousins. But yesterday, she had no choice but to go with us since we had to buy her her school shoes. It was tiring for me since we have to brave through the crowds and hop from one mall to another, how much more for a little girl like her? She had complaints but was very cooperative. As her rewards, we bought her the Mickey Mouse magazine and a new Barbie doll. Aside from that, we also had these per her request:
What a filling way to end a tiring day!
Oh surely, someone's going to disagree! :)
| You Are Very Approachable |
![]() You are open and friendly. You are willing to connect with almost anyone. While it's great to be approachable, there is such a thing as too approachable. Eventually someone will try to take advantage of you. Don't be afraid to say no or end an awkward conversation. |
One of the best financial decisions that one can make is investing in gold. As a famous commodity, its value does not depreciate over time, thus, investing in gold is wise move. Moreover, it is believed that an investor’s total portfolio should have at least 5% gold. Because its returns are often high and the value rarely depletes, gold is an investment that any investor should not disregard nor overlook.
If I can afford it, I would like to buy gold coins for a start. I believe that my money will not go to waste and that this will be a decision I will not regret.
